My Role: Graphic Design Intern – Logo Design
Organization: Prison Fellowship
Angel Tree Camping, a national program of Prison Fellowship, provides scholarships so children with incarcerated parents can attend camp at little to no cost. During my internship, I designed the program’s logo, built around the sense of journey and exploration that makes camp so memorable.
The Concept
My early sketches were fun but lacked a clear idea. Two of them stood out: one built on mountains, the other on a winding path. Combining them created a mark that shows both the journey and the destination as part of the camp experience.
The Takeaway
This project taught me that the best ideas don’t always come first. Sometimes they come from letting early concepts work together.
The registration form and box were created by Prison Fellowship’s design team and are included to show the logo in use.
